The acquisition and rehabilitation of this 44-unit apartment property for Pioneer Center, a non-profit serving the developmentally disabled in McHenry County, marked a new effort by the agency to assist its adult clients function independently. A significant number of units were modified to accommodate residents with impaired mobility, hearing or sight. A private sector property management firm operates the property, and Pioneer Center staff provide counseling, supervision and developmental training services to the residents.
